If you have any trouble, just let me know.  This new system will reduce the amount of paper we are going through!

Once you get into our group, this will be the first message you see.  Students will log their practice weekly on the blog.  We will all be able to  check in with each other this way - see what is hard, see what isn't too tough, see what we all like best.  This will be a great tool to keep the musical discussions alive!  Below is the content of the message:

Hello Students!  Each week, due on Monday, you will log your practice time and comments within this blog.  Please use the format below:
M - (enter number of minutes)
T - (enter number of minutes)
W - (enter number of minutes)
Th - (enter number of minutes)
F - (enter number of minutes)
Sat - (enter number of minutes)
Sun - (enter number of minutes)
Total minutes for the week - (enter number of minutes)

I had a hard time with ____________________ (tell me what was super hard for you this week)
I really enjoyed ____________(tell me what you enjoyed most during your practice time this week)
My goal next week is ____________(set a goal for your practice time next week; what will you spend more time on, when will you practice, are there parts of the music that are more challenging that need extra attention, etc.)

This new way to record your practice will be on the honor system.  You all know how easy it is for me to tell who is practicing and who is not!!  I want you to be honest with yourself.  I think you will find this weekly reflection rewarding.  The neat thing is that we will all see what the others had a hard time with and what you liked best.

I am excited about this!  Ms. White
